Patrice Evra: Former France star opens up about sexual abuse
Former Arsenal, Lazio and PSG midfielder is now a football player, after retiring from football in 2014.
“I have done five to six films with children, that is my passion. I am a football player, I have been a footballer.
“It is hard to explain, but I have the desire to do something else. I was playing with three teams, but when I stopped playing football a lot of things changed.
“I am still a footballer, so I am taking my time, but I have not found the right team to continue, it has not been a good experience.
“I don’t have money, not even the right kind of clothes, and I have not got any friends anymore.
“I feel guilty. I want to continue to show my love for the game, football is the only thing that I miss.
“It is like having a pain somewhere inside of me, inside of my body, I can’t explain it, but I just know that it hurts.
“I went through a bad period and I do miss it. I have been feeling guilty but now, I am the football player and it is all about enjoying the game.”
Former Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who says he is “more comfortable with his naked body than with the one I have on show on the pitch. It is better to be naked than with clothes on, no?
“People think footballers are mad because they always need to have their shirt on. I don’t like that; I like having my skin free and not just being a body bag on a field,”
Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo recently revealed his sexual abuse issues as well, telling a newspaper:
“I remember the day of my first rape. It was about 20 years ago.
“I was 20, and I had a lot of girlfriends. I was working, my family wasn’t happy with that.
“One day, we had a barbecue with some friends, and I had some wine, but I was feeling very happy.
“This guy I was with was a very good friend, we were both at school together. He was friends with a mate.
